Introducing motherboard
A safe and intentional curated network for African mothers to access opportunities, rebuild their careers, and support one another.
Your Journey, Supported in Three Ways
Work Access
Motherboard offers more than job listings. It’s a trusted space where African mothers, both on the continent and in the diaspora, can access real, flexible work opportunities shared with intention and care. Every week, we curate a list of full-time roles, freelance gigs, and contract openings from people who believe African mothers deserve inclusive, respectful workplaces. These opportunities are shared in a dedicated WhatsApp group, where mothers can not only view and apply, but also share leads with one another. It's a space built on trust, connection, and the belief that no mother should navigate the job search alone.
Career Rebuilding
Navigating work after motherhood often means reimagining what your career looks like, and finding the confidence to take the next step. Many African mothers experience a shift in priorities, a pause in momentum, or uncertainty about where they now fit professionally. In partnership with Career Wheel, Motherboard offers a range of support to help African mothers rebuild with clarity and purpose. This includes career clarity and visioning workshops, CV and cover letter clinics, masterclasses on navigating transitions, and weekly reflection prompts to help regain focus.
Community & Well Being
We believe that trust is the foundation of any meaningful community. In the Motherboard WhatsApp group, African mothers are welcomed into a safe, respectful space where openness and care come first. As trust grows, so does connection. Mothers share stories, offer advice, and support one another through the everyday realities of working motherhood. We also host occasional well-being sessions focused on rest, reflection, and emotional care, because your wholeness matters, not just your work.
Since launching motherboard, hundreds of African mothers have signed up — women actively looking for work, returning from maternity leave, or simply seeking flexible options that honour both their ambition and their caregiving. motherboard exists to meet them where they are, and to connect them with what they need most: opportunity, clarity, and community.
